170 Pages, Black and White Illustrations and Photographs
Author: R.W. Christie & G.D. Gray
Text includes the Dargo High Plains, Wonnangatta valley, Talbotville, Grant, Waterford and the many other localities in and around Dargo and the Crooked River.
There is a good chapter on the murders at, and brief history of Wonnangatta Station and an appendix details the Mining surveyors and registrars quarterly reports with returns obtained from the various mines in the region.
Customer Reviews:
(Thursday, 14 August 2008) Rating: Gold fanciers unite. This is the book for you! Not only have Christie and Gray exlpored the majestic areas of Dargo and Grant, but they have provided a factual account of the areas history.
The book starts with an exciting begining and reaches a thrilling climax with the murders at Wonnangatta, or "the Wonnie" as I like to call it.
While Grant may no longer be the bustling town it once was, Christie (and his trusty side kick Gray) give you a life like account of the hardships the miners would have experienced.
A truly exhilirating read. Don't bother buying a book mark, because you wont be putting this thriller down.
Five Stars!
