Bairnsdale was one of the first regional areas in Victoria to organise a Meals on Wheels service.
Since then, more than 18 million meals per year are delivered throughout Australia, serving thousands of elderly, disabled and risk persons every week.
This story tells of the commitment and determination of the volunteers from the Bairnsdale district who developed the first class community service that we know today.
